Senior Licensed Clinical Social Worker and
Director of Employer Programs

Alana (she/her) is a Senior Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#117908), and Director of Practice SF’s Employer Programs.

Alana received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Criminal Justice from George Washington University and earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California, and holds a Pupil Personnel Service Credential.

Alana has spent the past decade committed to helping children, teenagers, and their parents navigate life’s most overwhelming moments. Alana particularly likes working with children who feel like their feelings are “too big” for most rooms, teenagers and young adults navigating life’s big firsts (love, heartbreak, moves), parents hoping to better understand why their children do the things they do, and new mothers learning the foreign language of parenthood.

Alana has been extensively trained in ACT, CBT, and DBT, She has also been trained in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), an evidence based intervention for parents and their children who are experiencing emotional and behavioral difficulties. Additionally, Alana has been trained in Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), an evidence based treatment for parents of anxious children. Alana has also received her Maternal Mental Health Certificate Training through Postpartum Support International and offers perinatal support to all birthing people and their partners from preconception through postpartum.

As a mother of two, Alana understands the intensity, overwhelm, and joy of parenthood. She is here to make the path more manageable for you and your children. She sees clients in Practice’s Los Angeles office in Hancock Park, travels to San Francisco once a quarter to meet with her Bay Area clients in person, and meets clients virtually via tele-health.

In her spare time, Alana can be found gardening, and attempting to try new restaurants with two young kids in tow.
